Part-time 3 days per week


This 3 days per week position will focus on the coordination and delivery of College of the Rockies Occupational First Aid (OFA) and Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) programs and meeting the regulatory requirements required to maintain the College's first aid agency status with WorkSafe BC and other licensing and certifying bodies. Duties will include initial and ongoing training and monitoring of first aid instructors, overseeing annual instructor monitoring and updates, implementing any curriculum or protocol changes mandated by WorkSafe BC, Red Cross and/or St Johns ambulance. The coordinator will also oversee the database, paperwork and reporting functions required by WorkSafe BC and EMR Licensing. The coordinator will act as a resource to all campuses and departments offering First Aid and EMR training and will liaise with provincial bodies. Collaboration with the EMALB to facilitate and coordinate EMALB exams is also a function of the position. Partnership and opportunity identification and development, as well as contributing to the overall marketing and reputation of COTR First Aid programs will also be expected.


Experience as a licensed EMR or higher is considered an asset and experience teaching/examining EMR courses is preferred. Must be a qualified OFA 3 instructor/evaluator with a proven history of consistently positive student evaluations and instructor monitoring evaluations. Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills are a necessity along with excellent analysis, problem solving and organizational skills. Candidate must have current and extensive knowledge of WorkSafe BC requirements in order to maintain agency status. Candidates must hold a valid driver's license.

Salary: $3,060 per month ($38.46 per hour)
