Trades Instructor Term Position

Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing

Discovery Trades Program January 13 To May 8, 2020

Invermere Campus 

Duties: Reporting to the Invermere Campus Manager, this Term Instructor position will involve instruction in a variety of trade positions in the Discovery Trades Program, (Introduction to Trades), delivered in collaboration with David Thompson Secondary School. The instructor will deliver the introductory curriculum for the Carpenter, Electrician and Plumber in a way that meets the needs of their students, ensuring that classroom and shop instruction is relevant and current.  

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of a variety of trade skills and related equipment. They will also have Red Seal certification in their respective trade along with a minimum of five years' work experience.  Good communication, interpersonal, computer and organizational skills are essential.  Experience in adult education, online learning or teaching is also an asset.  

As an employee of the College of the Rockies, the successful candidate is expected to be a lifelong learner who continues to develop his/her skills to help the College meet the needs of our students and our other valued clients. 

Salary: As per the Faculty Salary Schedule and depending on qualifications, instructional and related work experience, the salary for term, full-time employees is in a range from$5,611 - $9,016 per month (this includes 16% in lieu of vacation). The College also offers a comprehensive range of benefits. 

Successful candidates may be required to complete a Criminal Record Check.
